Vinnies CEO Sleepout 2019

27 Jun 2019 10:26 AM -

Cloudy. Very high chance of showers. The chance of a thunderstorm. Possible hail in the evening.

This is the current forecast for Perth tonight, when Mark Keenan and Jon Laffer will join over 100 other WA business leaders sleeping outside to raise awareness and funds as part of the Vinnies CEO Sleepout.

Unlike Mark and Jon, many people who are sleeping rough, or in support accommodation, will not get to go home on Friday to have a warm shower and hot breakfast.

On any given night around 9,000 Western Australians experience homelessness. This figure is over 110,000 across the country. Homelessness in Australia is a national issue, but one where real change can be made at a local, and personal, level. Organisations, like Vinnies, are the backbone for this impact, providing hands-on, short-term and long-term support, to allow the most vulnerable of people, the opportunity to get back on their feet. Vinnies rely on donations to undertake this work.
